Spain – 29 October 2025. Indie publisher Firenut Games and solo developer José Manuel Conesa Hernández are thrilled to announce a major free content update for the acclaimed first-person survival horror title Backrooms Level X, available now on PC via Steam.

This new update deepens the horrors lurking within the Backrooms, introducing two additional levels, a gravity-shifting gameplay mechanic, and multiple quality-of-life enhancements. Players can experience this expanded nightmare at a 30% discount during the Steam Scream IV event, running until 3 November 2025.

New Content Highlights

Two New Levels: The Backrooms now extend to 15 interconnected levels, each filled with new story threads, puzzles, and threats.

Gravity Mechanic: Players can now walk on ceilings through special corridors, transforming the way puzzles are solved and the environment is explored.

Two New Steam Achievements: Test your nerve and uncover hidden challenges within the new areas.

Optimisations & Fixes: Improved performance and quality of life updates for a smoother, more immersive experience.

Backrooms Level X delivers an intense, atmospheric survival horror experience inspired by the eerie concept of “liminal spaces.” Players awaken in an endless maze of decaying rooms and flickering lights, where logic unravels and unseen horrors stalk the corridors.

Each level reveals fragments of a disturbing mystery tied to a lost VHS tape discovered in Albuquerque, 1986, a recording of an event that should not exist.
