Hamburg, Germany - Monday, October 27th, 2025 - Horizon Edge and Assemble Entertainment invite you to plunge headfirst into the dark, twisted world of Decktamer, the hotly anticipated roguelike creature-deckbuilder where every card bites back. This time, your deck isn’t made of spells or relics - it’s made of living monsters you’ve tamed in battle. Each one is a friend, a weapon, and a liability. And if they die, they’re gone. Forever.
Decktamer is inspired by a love of both strategic deckbuilding games and creature-collection mechanics. The developers asked: what if cards weren’t abstract actions but living allies with real stakes? By combining the planning and adaptability of deckbuilders with the emotional bond of monster-taming, Horizon Edge aims to create something fresh and engaging.
Into the unknown…
As the game begins, players focus on taming their first few creatures and learning how their abilities work together. You’ll need to build a team strong enough to survive initial encounters, while also deciding whether to capture new creatures, harvest resources, or experiment with mutagens.
Each dive into the Abyss is a gamble. Do you capture that mutated horror, risking your resources, or crush it for a safer path forward? Will you fuse your strongest creatures into an unstoppable abomination or accidentally create an uncontrollable demon that spearheads your demise?
Tame your enemies: Recruit monsters straight from the battlefield.
High-stakes deckbuilding: Lose a creature, lose the card. No do-overs.
Mutagenic mayhem: Fuse, evolve, and experiment with freakish ability combos.
Infinite replayability: Procedurally generated Abyss = endless bizarre monsters and endless fatal decisions.
Decktamer is a wild ride that will delight card carriers, monster hunters and anyone interested in recruiting their own nightmare-fuel mutant army. By offering players a world where moral and strategic decisions are intricately woven into gameplay, Decktamer provides a thought-provoking experience that goes far beyond the average roguelike romp.
