New Spells, Pumpkin Outfits, Enemy, and more!
Update 13 brings spooky new features and content to the game:
Two new spells: Swirl Sickle and Spear Barrage enter the pool and can be selected like any other during a run, opening up new build paths and late-game synergies.
New elite enemy: The Broodmaw joins the battlefields, dropping eggs that hatch if left unchecked. Spoiler alert: you don’t want the eggs to hatch.
New objective: A herd of Mana Beasts has escaped. When this objective appears, wizards must herd them into the nearest pen so they can be returned home safely.
Dark-element overhaul: Corruption gets meaner and smarter. Many enemies now respond with custom behavior when corrupted, even bosses like Sol’phish and Krog’wa can fall to the darkness if your build is strong enough.
Seasonal outfits: Bryony’s attempt at a secret mission to the forbidden Pumpkin Realm has backfired, and now they’re everywhere! Four pumpkin outfits (they’re pretty cool!) are now available to unlock through quests.And the spookiest feature… the update countdown is gone from the game’s starting screen. After more than a year of frequent content drops, Update 13 will be the final content update before 1.0.
On the path to 1.0
The team confirms that 1.0 is coming soon and that he full release won’t be the end: The Spell Brigade will continue to receive support after 1.0, but today marks the last content drop before that milestone. Players can follow progress and behind-the-scenes updates on the official Discord.

About Bolt Blaster Games
Bolt Blaster Games is a six-person indie game studio from Belgium, founded in 2020. In 2023 they released their first game, a cartoony roguelite shooter in VR called GAZZLERS. It’s a crazy little game in which you fight off hordes of - you guessed it - Gazzlers, with a gun you build yourself from combined parts and upgrades you get after each wave, all in a colorful, cartoon aesthetic.
Working on GAZZLERS post-launch really showed the Bolt Blaster team the value of community feedback and engagement, which is something they want to improve on while working on their second title. Still a young studio with the ambition to make great, fun games, they are eager to grow as game developers, one game at a time.
