The supernatural pirate survival simulator gets ready to make landfall!

[United States] – September 17, 2025 – Ahoy! Ready to set sail for even stranger waters? Pangea Game Studios, together with indie.io, are delighted to announce that Forgotten Seas looms on the horizon and will exit Early Access on Steam on October 111, 2025! Both veterans of the Bermuda Void and newly arrived crash survivors will finally have the opportunity to solve the mystery of the strange realm…

The Void is a realm of endless ocean where islands appear and vanish beneath the waves according to the whims of an unseen, mysterious force. Roving the waters between isolated patches of dry land are the Dread Pirates, suspended between life and death, hunting down any and all people who arrive and plunge into them, such as the players, newly arrived crash survivors of a US Navy patrol that disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle.

Dodging ravenous piranhas, the first order of business is making it to the shore, getting their bearings, and then starting on a way to get out of the Void. Forgotten Seas doesn't require players to grind away hours of their precious free time to find the resources necessary to get off the first island. With a streamlined crafting system and well-thought-out harvesting, getting to the first seaworthy vessel is quick, and with a solid deck under their feet and wind in their sails, players soon cross the great, endless blue in search of supplies, opportunity, and mysteries to unravel. Piles of flotsam provide much-needed loot, mermaids boost the speed of sail, while islands popping up from the waters on the horizon promise riches and challenges.

However, to unlock them, players will have to upgrade from their initial boat, to fast schooners, durable man-o-wars, and the imposing dreadnaughts. Managing the emerging fleet is possible through the unique ship-in-a-bottle mechanic: Once a ship is built, it can be collected and hidden under the player's pea coat, slowly building up a collection of ships. Thus equipped, players can safely explore the islands, with an escape boat literally in their pockets - unless an island decides to disappear with them deep within the bowels of an ancient ruin, leading to a desperate dash to the surface.

When faced with the dreaded supernatural pirates, well-prepared players can quickly react to the changing situation: Quickly drop a schooner into the water to escape their range - or wait for them to close in, then reveal the ship of the line lurking in their pocket, wiping out the pirate menace with overwhelming broadsides.

Early Access was essential to make Forgotten Seas shine, as Pangea Game Studios is a husband and wife duet. The community provided essential feedback, testing, and providing an endless stream of ideas for the duo to implement. Some of the major additions made include a robust system of adventures on the high seas, like close encounters of the kraken kind and more intense combat, treasure hunting for self-respecting pirates, and extensive base-building mechanics tailored for creating safe havens on precious dry land that multiple players can collaborate on.

The full 1.0 release combines all of these additions with a fundamental overhaul of the game's graphics, performance, and an endless list of tweaks made in collaboration with the community. It's a true adventure on the high seas, with a carefully tuned sailing experience, intense combat both across the waves and on dry land, a robust skill system, and precious treasures to hunt down, collect, and display as players attempt to solve the mystery of the Bermuda Void.

All would-be sailors take heed: Forgotten Seas is available on Steam in Early Access right now and will unleash the full barrage of content when it enters 1.0 on October 11, 2025!
