Munich, 21st August 2025 – BBG Entertainment is proud to announce the release of BOULDER DASH® 40th Anniversary Edition today August 21 2025 for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Windows and Mac (Switch to follow on the 28th of August in North America and 4th of September in Europe).


First launched in 1984, Boulder Dash® is a pioneering interactive video game that quickly became a classic of the home computer era. Loved by casual and hardcore players alike, the game created by Peter Liepa with Chris Gray and its many sequels has challenged fans for more than three decades.


The 40th Anniversary Edition pays tribute to the legendary original game while introducing exciting new features for both retro fans and newcomers:


60 remastered classic levels from BOULDER DASH® I, II & III

180 brand-new levels filled with action, strategy, and diamond fever

6 completely new worlds plus 3 exclusive fan worlds from real Boulder Dash® legends

New game elements: vertically growing walls, acid-eating rocks and diamonds, enemy generators, surprise eggs, and more

The game includes the original versions of Boulder Dash I, II and III in their original Atari and C64 look, as well as six completely new worlds with 180 brand new levels.

With the level editor you can create and share your own caves or explore countless creations from other players.

Boulder Dash I, II and III can be played in classic Atari or C64 design.
