[United States] – August 6, 2025 – What do you get when you mix a sarcastic punk protagonist, a battle royale reality show, and a country up for grabs? Rogue Labyrinth, the chaotic action-narrative roguelite from Tea Witch Games, is coming to Steam on September 1, 2025, published by indie.io.
Players take control of Iris, an outcast nomad returning home to Lantanas, only to discover that a colossal Labyrinth has been constructed in their homeland and turned into a twisted reality show by an egocentric billionaire named Echelon. The prize? The newly invented title of Monarch of Lantanas. In a spectacle where ratings rule and survival isn’t guaranteed, Iris is swept into a high-stakes competition built for entertainment.
Forced into the twisted competition, players will battle through randomized biomes in the ever-shifting Labyrinth—dodging traps, fighting monsters, and surviving manufactured mayhem. Each run offers new abilities, attacks, and potential allies to discover. Armed with a sharp tongue and a massive smacking stick, Iris can turn nearly anything into a projectile—rocks, debris, furniture, even unconscious contestants—transforming the entire arena into a playground of controlled chaos.
Combat blends frantic bullet-hell dodging with satisfying hack-and-slash action. Players must deflect incoming attacks, launch improvised projectiles, and trigger chaotic chain reactions using the environment itself. With systems like magical abilities, ancient artifacts, and viewer-donated upgrades, each run becomes a chance to experiment with bold strategies and unexpected outcomes. The result is a fast-paced, responsive combat system where anything in the environment can be deflected, redirected, or turned into a projectile, making every run feel unpredictable and unique.
Rogue Labyrinth is built to be accessible for newcomers and rewarding for hardcore roguelite fans. Beyond combat, players explore shifting routes, discover hidden events, and improve their odds by forming relationships. Meals shared with friends or foes improve stats, while interactions with arena staff and hired monsters unlock new narratives with over 4,000 lines of dialogue.
“We built Rogue Labyrinth to be immediately satisfying to pick up—whether you’re button-mashing or chasing the perfect combo,” said John Bond, Director at Tea Witch Games. “There’s a unique rhythm to the game’s chaos. Once players realize they can deflect, bounce, and weaponize nearly everything around them, it becomes this addictive loop of controlled mayhem. It’s accessible at first, but mastering it takes real skill.”
With replayability at its core and driven by player choice, Rogue Labyrinth blends fast-paced roguelite action with dynamic narrative systems that can affect gameplay stats. Every run shifts public favor, builds Iris’s reputation, and opens up new interactions. The deeper players go, the more the show evolves. And the more the Labyrinth reveals its secrets.
Ready to smack, dodge, deflect, and repeat? Whether you're experimenting with builds or perfecting your run, every fight counts. Players can get a sneak peek at Rogue Labyrinth by playing the demo, available now on Steam. Rogue Labyrinth will be presented for press and players at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, between August 20 and 24, at the indie.io booth, Hall 10.2, Stand F-11, and at PAX West, ahead of its launch on September 1, 2025. The developers will be on-site at PAX West. Interested press and creators can indicate interview interest via the key request form.
