Nintendo Switch 2 Sold Over 192,000 Units Per Day in June, Finbold Research Finds

LONDON, July 30, 2025 — The Nintendo Switch 2 has set a new benchmark for console launches, selling 5,011,250 units globally in June 2025, averaging 192,740 units per day since its June 5 release, according to data reviewed and analyzed by Finbold Research.

The console moved 3.5 million units in its first four days, making it one of the most successful hardware debuts in industry history. Crucially, demand remained strong beyond launch week, avoiding the sharp drop‑offs that often follow major console releases.

Asia and the Americas each accounted for 1.91 million units, with the Americas setting a new record as the fastest‑selling gaming hardware in U.S. history. Europe added 1.11 million units, and Oceania contributed 88,000, giving the Switch 2 one of the most balanced and commercially potent launches on record.

“These are breakthrough numbers,” said Jordan Major, Lead Analyst at Finbold. “Nintendo has captured both new buyers and legacy Switch owners, proving that the hybrid console model still has enormous growth potential.”

Diana Paluteder, Head of Content at Finbold, added: “If this trajectory holds through the holiday season, the Switch 2 could rewrite expectations for next‑gen adoption curves and cement its position as Nintendo’s most impactful hardware launch yet.”

By comparison, Sony’s PlayStation 5 sold 916,703 units in June, the original Switch added 316,250 units, and Xbox Series X|S sold 157,326 units. The Switch 2’s lifetime sales now stand at 5.01 million units, while the PlayStation 5 has reached 77.26 million, the original Switch sits at 151 million, and the Xbox Series X|S at 33.27 million.
