Pulp adventure thrill ride The Drifter now available for PC, Mac and Linux

High-octane launch trailer sets the tone; 15% discount available at launch

Melbourne, Australia - 17 July 2025 - Indie development duo Powerhoof are today thrilled to announce that their fast-paced, point and click thriller The Drifter is now available to purchase for Windows, macOS and Linux via Steam and GOG.com.

The game retails for $19.99 USD / €19.50 EUR / £16.75 GBP / $29.50 AUD - but those looking to dive into the action during the launch window will receive an additional 15% discount.

The game’s cinematic soundtrack is also available to purchase separately or with the game as part of The Drifter: Pixels and Synths Bundle.

To coincide with the launch, an explosive new trailer lays down a thick ozploitation vibe, building hype and effortlessly setting the tone for players about to experience this pulp adventure thrill ride…

A classic 2D point and click adventure with the brake-lines cut - The Drifter propels players breathlessly into a web of shadowy corporations, conspiracy, murder, and the thousand year obsession of a madman, as they help Mick Carter solve the mystery of his own homicide.

The Drifter takes its cues from the modern revival of the adventure genre and delivers an engrossing and unpredictable edge-of-your-seat story, while logical, down-to-earth investigative puzzles act as the sinew between razor-sharp narrative beats.

The Drifter - Key Features

A Pulp Adventure Thriller from the minds that brought you Peridium and Crawl.

An engrossing roller-coaster of a story - Drawing on King, Crichton and Carpenter, with a dash of 70s Aussie grindhouse.

Point 'n Click or Controller - Unique twin-stick controls make The Drifter as comfy to play on the couch as at your PC.

Bursting with raw crunchy pixel art and high-impact animation.

Professionally voice acted, with a brooding dark-synth cinematic score.

The Drifter is now available for Windows, macOS and Linux via Steam and GOG.com. A Nintendo Switch version is in development and currently targeting a release later this year.
