Comedy Takes Center Stage at Pop Culture’s Biggest Celebration, August 15 - 17

Chicago, Illinois (June 12, 2025) – More celebrity superstars are added to FAN EXPO Chicago’s guest list today as Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt, comedy superstar Chevy Chase, and RENO 911! duo Thomas Lennon and Cedric Yarbrough announced their participation in this year’s show, August 15 - 17, 2025 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

Award-winning actress Helen Hunt rose to acclaim portraying “Jamie Buchman” in the sitcom MAD ABOUT YOU, which ran for eight seasons and earned Hunt three Golden Globe Awards and four Emmys for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She then won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her turn in the 1998 romantic comedy AS GOOD AS IT GETS, starring opposite Jack Nicholson. Her film career continued with roles in TWISTER, CAST AWAY, romantic comedy WHAT WOMEN WANT, and PAY IT FORWARD. She starred in the television adaptation of BLINDSPOTTING, and appears as “Winnie Landell” in the latest season of MAX’s HACKS.

Comedy superstar Chevy Chase was a breakout cast member in the first season of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, before embarking on a film career that anchored some of the most iconic films of the 1980s, including CADDYSHACK, FLETCH, NATIONAL LAMPOON’S VACATION, SPIES LIKE US, and ¡THREE AMIGOS! Chase returned to television with the hit comedy series COMMUNITY, and reprised his role as “Chuck Griswold” with a cameo in VACATION, the fifth installment of the National Lampoon series that he launched.

Thomas Lennon and Cedric Yarbrough starred in cult comedy classic RENO 911! for six seasons on Comedy Central, and a seventh season on Quibi, before The Roku Channel picked up the show for a season of RENO 911! DEFUNDED. They also starred in both feature length films, RENO 911!: MIAMI and RENO 911: THE HUNT FOR QANON.

Lennon, who grew up in Oak Park, Illinois and attended Northwestern University, gained prominence in the comedy troupe THE STATE on MTV, and co-created the Comedy Central series VIVA VARIETY. Lennon has also appeared on SANTA CLARITA DIET, and is the screenwriter of such comedies as the NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM films, THE PACIFIER, BALLS OF FURY, and BAYWATCH.

Yarbrough’s credits include roles in the ABC sitcom SPEECHLESS, and 2004’s MEET THE FOCKERS. He had recurring series roles in animated shows including THE BOONDOCKS, THE GOLDBERGS, and JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS.
