Descent into Hell in Dark Quest 4 – A Dungeon Crawler RPG Inspired by Hero Quest

Face three missions, one wicked sorcerer, and a whole lot of monsters in the new demo launching ahead of Steam Next Fest.

June 5, 2025 – Indie publisher Brain Seal has released the official demo for Dark Quest 4, the upcoming installment in the fan-favorite dungeon crawler series. This first playable slice offers a taste of the strategy, atmosphere, and imagination-packed quests that await when the full game launches later this year on PC (Steam), Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Inspired by legendary board games like Hero Quest and Dungeon Saga, Dark Quest 4 is a turn-based RPG where players create a party of heroes and take on handcrafted dungeon adventures narrated by a fully voiced dungeon master.

The Dark Quest 4 demo offers about 30 minutes of gameplay, giving players their first look at the world, systems, and charm of the full experience.

You’ll begin in the hero camp, where you can manage and upgrade your party before heading into danger. From there, you’ll explore:

- Two shops to gear up with weapons and magical items

- A quest giver offering three unique missions to test your strategy and wits

- A full tutorial to guide new players through the core mechanics of movement, combat, and progression

It’s the perfect opportunity to get hands-on with the game’s signature blend of turn-based tactics, fantasy flair, and nostalgic dungeon-crawling charm.

“We wanted the demo to give players a real feel for the heart of the game. The choices, the characters, and the sense of mystery that grows with each quest,” said Argi Baltzi, Game Director of Dark Quest 4.

“It’s a world shaped by imagination, but rooted in tactics and this demo is just the beginning.”

Key Gameplay Features:

Multiplayer for Up to 3 Players – Team up with friends and tackle dungeons together.

Turn-Based Tactical Combat – Carefully position your heroes and plan your moves in grid-based battles.
