Utopia Must Fall (Major Update) - Laser-Flavored Roguelike Arcade Base Defense

incorporates elements from classic arcade shooters, tower defense, roguelikes and beyond, all neatly packaged into a laser-sharp bullet-purgatory arcade frenzy about Earth's last metropolis defending itself against a mysterious alien invasion.



It's made with our V99 Engine, which accurately emulates the look of classic vector-scan monitors from the golden age of arcades. It has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, and was also nominated for Excellence in Audio at the most recent Independent Game Festival in San Francisco.

The update will launch on May 14th, 2025 and adds:

A detailed skill tree to visualize and assist your upgrade path
Automated battle drones with configurable paramaters to suit your playing style
New upgrades, nukes, enemies, balances and more

The game is developed by Datassette and published by Pixeljam. It launched into Early Access in late 2024 and will be adding updates every few months until its full release sometime in 2026.
