Use Your Musical Instrument As Your Game Controller In ‘Pitch Race’ On STEAM™ Offering A Remarkable 3D Racing Experience
Transform Every Note Into Fuel For Victory!
Brisbane, Australia, May 8th 2025: Indie game developer Jonathan Adam publishing as Web Ed Development Pty Ltd on STEAM™ is proud to announce the worldwide release of Pitch Race, now available on PC via STEAM™. In this 3D-racing game with a twist, your musical instrument turns into the game controller. Pitch Race is a single- and multi-player, networked car racing game unlike any other; whether you’re a violinist, a pianist, a saxophonist, or even a vocalist, Pitch Race offers a unique new way to play, practice, and improve your musical skills while having fun.
Pitch Race seamlessly incorporates a musical instrument as the primary controller, transforming every note played into fuel for victory. As players master their chosen instrument, they propel their cars across interconnected networks, with the intensity of their music dictating the speed of their journey. Pitch Race is more than a game; it is the ultimate long tone workout for musicians, blending adrenaline-pumping action with the discipline of musical mastery. Suitable to players of all ages and experience levels, the game includes a host of fun features and instruments catering to most.
Pitch Race uses your instrument's sound to control the car. The game’s pitch recognition software listens to the notes you play through your instrument and translates them into in-game actions. For example, certain notes may make the car go forward, while others control turning left or right. It’s as simple as playing your instrument! The magic happens through your computer’s microphone, which picks up the sound from your instrument. This sound is then processed by the game, converting it into a musical note that drives the game. The pitch recognition software is finely tuned to handle different instruments and is adaptable based on your skill level.
Pitch Race includes support for a wide variety of instruments: Strings (Violin, viola, cello, double bass), Woodwinds (Flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone), Brass (Trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium/baritone, tuba), in addition to support for other instruments, such as piano/keyboard, xylophone, guitar, bass guitar. Each instrument is accommodated with a unique set of controls that fits its range and sound. Whether you’re plucking a guitar string or blowing into a flute, Pitch Race recognizes the different ways each instrument creates sound and adapts accordingly.
Pitch Race includes five levels of difficulty to learn and master. Levels 0 and 1 have a wide tolerance for the pitch that is accepted as correct. Levels 2 and above become progressively more challenging, with the pitch tolerance narrowing. As you improve, you’ll need to be more accurate with your notes to succeed in higher levels. With its unique integration of musical note recognition, Pitch Race offers a fun and interactive way to practice, improve, and enjoy your instrument while racing toward the finish line.
