From the Visionary Minds of Kazutaka Kodaka and Kotaro Uchikoshi,
a Twisted New Story Combines Adventure Gameplay and Deep Tactical-RPG Battles to Deliver an Unforgettable Experience
TORRANCE, Calif. — April 24, 2025 — XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today announced the release of The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- for the Nintendo Switch™ system in North America. The title is currently available physically on the Nintendo Switch in the Americas via the Marvelous USA Online Store and participating retailers, and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch. The first original IP from developer Too Kyo Games and the visionary minds of Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape series), The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- presents a chilling, tense storyline leading players to 100 despair-filled endings.
Takumi Sumino is a totally average teenager living in the Tokyo Residential Complex, a place where every day is much like the last and nothing bad ever happens. All that changes when freakish monsters attack the town and start wreaking havoc. A strange creature calling itself Sirei appears and offers Takumi the power to protect those he holds dear... All he has to do is stab himself in the chest!
The next thing he knows, Takumi is in Last Defense Academy, a colossal school in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a wall of otherworldly flames. He and 14 other students have been drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days. Initiated students transform their blood into the mysterious Hemoanima, a unique type of mutated blood which provides supernatural abilities. How much are they willing to sacrifice to take back their normal lives and save the world from the grotesque school invaders? The curtain rises on 100 days of war and despair…
As Takumi, players will spend their days at Last Defense Academy getting to know his classmates and exploring the school grounds during the narrative visual-novel portion of the game, whilst defending the school from attacking monsters in grid-based tactical-RPG battles alongside his classmates. Players will experience a diverse, branching narrative where their decisions can drastically alter Takumi’s story and outcomes during his 100 days at the school. Tactical battles will test players' strategic abilities, challenging players to effectively use smart positioning to gain an advantage and, when all hope is lost in the face of overwhelming odds, know when to sacrifice classmates to unleash powerful final attacks to level the playing field.
