Synth Riders Turns Up the Chaos with Free Challenges+ Update

Los Angeles, CA (April 15, 2025): Alien invaders are entering Synth Riders to trip up your high score run. Maybe the on-screen notes will vanish. Or change colors. The dev team dares players on Meta Quest, SteamVR, and PlayStation VR2 to take on the latest free feature — Challenges+. Just update Synth Riders, it’s available now.

Challenges+ takes the Power-Ups players used against each other in multiplayer battles and enables them in the asynchronous Challenges directly from the developers to mess with players even further.

Here’s a sampling of the obstacles that are hurtling towards players:

Invaderz - alien invaders target you with their missiles, punch them or dodge to avoid them
Warp - make the jump to hyperspeed as the gameplay stretches and speeds up
Embiggen - make the notes a lot bigger
Minimize - make the notes a lot smaller
Prismatic - toggles the prismatic modifier changing the notes to rainbows
Vanish - toggles the vanish modifier, makes the notes invisible and turns the rails into nodes
Random colors - mixes up the four colors to confuse you.
The Synth Riders Team selects which traps go into each track Challenge…but the game algorithmically determines the best place to lay those traps in the song at the perfect place to trip players up!

Synth Riders continues delivering new content and monthly updates in 2025. The team kicked off with the 80s Mixtape - Side B (featuring Queen, Toto, and Wham!). Then came the wide release of Current Waves and the (admittedly wacky) Flight of the Bumblebees spring addition. Clearly, Kluge Interactive has no intention to slow down. The studio confirms an exciting lineup of new content is planned for the rest of 2025, along with major announcements for their upcoming VR arcade fighting game, FINAL FURY.

Synth Riders - Challenges+ Update is rolling out today to all players on Meta Quest 2&3, SteamVR and PlayStation VR2.
