What's up!
Battlefield 1942 is an amazingly fun game. It is the first of the battlefield series and inspired ea to continue making the game due to its popularity.
I picked up a free copy from ea off of origin. I think you can still get it free since it just had its tenth year anniversary.

Looking back I can't believe I spent a lot of days on its single player. The AI was really incompetent, but the overall freedom and choice of weaponry kept me coming back for more.

I still play it quite a bit. I have a cruddy laptop, so anything that loads fast gets played. So B1942, CS:GO, Awesomenauts, etc.

I tried it once, I liked it, I wish games now a days were as simple as it was. It was chaotic but had an old classic feel to it.
