Nice. The year before I started Bible Quizzing, they quizzed on Romans and James. I guess it was a really crazy year! Everybody was jumping crazily on James...
Oh, hey! Not that anyone cares probably, but I've memorized the entire book of Luke!!
A new year, a new direction!

How long did that take?GarthVader wrote: Oh, hey! Not that anyone cares probably, but I've memorized the entire book of Luke!!
And may I ask, how do you go about memorizing a book of the Bible?

It took about 9 months. I averaged about 4.5 new verses a day.
There are many ways to memorize, some ways better for different people. I read a verse over and over again until I can quote it to myself 5 times in a row really fast without looking or messing up. I then move on to the next verse and do the same thing. Then I quote the first verse again and move on again. After awhile you can get pretty proficient and can memorize fairly quickly. It does take a lot of practice, though. I've gotten to the point where I can memorize about 20 verses in a day. (I know somebody who's done 50!!)
But if you go slowly and surely, you can do a lot! And make sure you review every day or you'll forget what you learned! Granted, it is much easier to have an incentive to memorize. For me it is Bible Quizzing. If you aren't too motivated, it can be difficult...

Well...anyone else feel inadequate now?
Also, both of you need to join the Bible study on Proverbs. Get some new people.

Sorry... didn't mean to make you feel bad.
But can you at least say, "Good for you Garth!"? Or something? I'm not saying I'm better than everyone else or anything...

'Twas a joke. Your achievements won't make me feel bad, and if they twinge my conscience...that would mean something was wrong with me.
You did something that is nearly incomprehensible to me. Cool.
But you still need to join the Proverbs study.
