Do tower defense games fit under Strategy?

I would assume so since there is strategy involved.

I would say definitely. Most that I've seen easily qualify as real-time strategy.

Except Sanctum and Sanctum 2. They are Technically strategy/shooter.

Theres a good bit of strategy in money spending in tower placement. As far as I know some don't because you can just buff yourself up and get lucky like the first 65 rounds of BTD3-4.
So (insert meaning of life and REALLY important stuffs here) and that's what I'm all about!

Tower Defense games are strategy games because they require strategy to defeat the most enemies efficiently.
