I've agreed to these points before they were cool. 
Well, at least before I read the article. I took a "Bible as literature" class back in college (the first time I went) which helped to put a lot of the Bible in a historical perspective, too. It really changed the way I looked at the Bible, and the first point that this article mentions is just one of the things I learned in that class.
