I came home yesterday from the most boring of school days to experience one of the most interesting encounters.
So I flip on my PS3, get going on my regular online game of NBA 2K12, and search for a a random match as I don't have many friends playing this game. To my joy, I eventually come across a guy with a mic. Now usually, I find that whenever the guy on the other end has a mic, he's gonna trash-talk me the entire game, but there are there's sometimes the occasional friendly gamer.
We're a few mintues into the first quarter and a civil conversation; at this point I'm thinking to myself, friendly gamer. We first yap about our thoughts on the game and eventually the conversation gets more personal as he tells me that he's from somewhere in Louisiana (couldn't remember the city) and that he's living happily with his 3 kids and wife; I tell him I'm from Canada. Then, out of nowhere, he starts talking of his past life working as a drug dealer in the ghetto streets of ......(couldn't remember the city, again. lol it was over VOIP give me a break). Going deeper, he describes the day when he was at his lowest and how he turned to God when he was saved by His grace. He said that he remembers being held at gun-point by an enemy, and that he threatened to shoot if he didn't hand over the pounds of cocaine he possessed. He was robbed of his entire load, and then some, but he said he escape with his life because God wanted him to live. He told me the next Sunday he moved back to his mom's place in Louisina and had gone to church using this story in his testimony, thus changing his old ways. At this point, I'm uninterested in the game we've been playing.
He then tells me of the good life he's living with his wife and 3 children under the roof of his own home, but he's kind of been on and off in terms of his relationship with God. Let's all pray for him to strengthen his relationship; I don't know him in real life but considering his conversation with me I think he's a pretty cool dude.
I think this goes without saying but in the drug business, you either end up big and notorious among the gangs, or on the pavement with a gaping hole on your head.; it was by God's grace that this guy was rescued.
He added me on psn after our game ended.
I thought I'd share this with you as it made my day; oh the people you can find online...
Pray for this guy!
