Real War is the commercial version of the official military Joint Forces game being used to train the US armed forces. You get to use real military style fighting and actual military sea, air and land units. The story goes as follows. (It\'s a little close to home) After unknown terrorists attack a foreign USA base, the United States of America launches a missile strike against the terrorist compound. When the USA missile attack sets off a nuclear weapon hidden within the base, the terrorists accuse the USA of launching nuclear weapons.
After word of the USA attack spreads, many nations in the eastern hemisphere begin to believe that the USA has become too powerful and has turned into a power hungry nation. These nations join forces to create the Independent Liberation Army (ILA) and devise a plan to rid the eastern hemisphere of US military influence.
Ok, so now you know the story let\'s play war. This game is pretty similar to the Command and Conquer series when it comes to fighting style. You can select one or multiple units and click their target and it\'s good as done. This game has some new features. You don\'t have to worry about mining resources. You do have to guard and keep your supplies moving, this is what lets you build buildings and units. Guard them! Another original feature is that you will manage air, land and sea units. Keep an eye on them all. You have so much selection. Over 50 units to choose from.
The demo has a few tutorials. You can play two missions from the full game. The second one is tough! There is a multiplayer mode but it\'s not available in the demo. You will be able to play against four people. That sounds like fun.
From a Christian standpoint, this is a war game. There will be violence. It\'s not bad, no blood or anything. The game taunts you when you quit. It\'s clean, and kinda funny.
The game was easy to install. The graphics were good, it says it\'s 3D accelerated but it\'s not super detailed. The scenery is nice. The music was good. The drill sergeant can be annoying at times. The interface is decent, there are many options available so there will be a little bit of a learning curve. It tough keeping track of all your units since you cover air, land and sea. But it\'s not too bad. The game ran well for me, but there is a patch for the final. I hear it fixes some save game bugs. I would recommend getting that. Multiplayer sounds promising. If you like the Command and Conquer series or any other war strategy game, you will like this game.
