{{/_source.additionalInfo}}Five Nights at Freddy's (PC)

Five nights at Freddy’s is a point and click indie horror game made by Scott Cawthon, inspired by the criticisms of the animations of the animal characters of a previous game he made.
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a place with a disquieting history. The major event was when a total of five children went missing, lured backstage by a man in a costume of one of the restaurant's mascots. While the man was eventually caught, the children were never found.
The game starts with you (Mike Schmidt) finding a job offer in the newspaper. Freddy’s Pizza is looking for a night security guard to work from 12-6 AM; not explained is that the animatronics of the restaurant like to move on their own during that time space.

Strong Points: Unique camera based gameplay.
Weak Points: The game is short and doesn't have a lot of replay value, as it can completed in under an hour. (Even sooner in the mobile version.)
Moral Warnings: Upon losing you see an image of the aftermath of being attacked by the animatronics. You also hear a recorded message of the guard before you get attacked by the animatronics.
You’ll be in the security office armed with nothing more than two doors with lights and a laptop for monitoring cameras, which is all you will need. However the restaurant owners have a tight budget, so you’re limited on electricity and everything you use will drain it. (Yes, even having the doors closed will cost you energy.) Once your shift starts the animatronics will make their way towards your office. The only way to stop them is by having the door closed when they attempt to get in, as they will shortly give up and try to sneak in at another time if the entrance is blocked. You can’t keep the doors closed forever though, so it’s key that you know when they are or will be at your door, which is where the cameras and door lights come into play. The animatronics will become more active as the week progresses, and if an animatronic does get in, then it’s game over. The security office is your stronghold, and the animatronics your destruction. Use the power efficiently and know your enemy well, and you’ll have a good chance to survive the night.
One thing to take note of is that the majority of scares are jumpscares, meaning that the animatronics will appear suddenly and with little warning. Also while it’s uncommon to come across unintentionally, there is a jumpscare that will go as far as to purposely crash your game to add an element of eeriness. When you die you will be shown a picture indicating that you’re stuffed into a spare Freddy Costume. While not really graphic, it’s still a bit disturbing never the less. Also while it is rather subtle and nothing occult, the some of the surroundings of the restaurant change supernaturally.

The graphics are pre-rendered, which gives the game a fitting rustic feel, and the sounds do the job. The game is quite short and there isn’t a whole lot of replay value aside from a 6th night that’s unlock upon beating the game. There is however also an option to do a custom game after beating the extra night, where you can set the difficulty of each animatronic.
The mobile version the game is a bit different from the PC version; the nights are roughly half as long, though to keep things balanced the animatronics are more active and power drains faster. Also some effects were cut and some animations dumbed down in order for the game to be compatible with more mobile devices. Unique to the Android version is an in-game shop that uses real currency, where you can buy three in-game plushies for the security office desk that are based on the animatronics. You can also buy Cheat Mode, which when turned on will give you unlimited power and will show you where the all animatronics are located.
Overall Five Nights at Freddy's is a solid game, and has even been able to bring about three sequels. If you don't mind the excessive use of jump scares or horror elements, Five Nights at Freddy's is a experience well worth the price.
