Story

The planet Larson\'s Folly was hit with a stellar shockwave at 7:14am on March 28, 2815 A.D. The world instantly broke up and suffered tremendous devastation: the atmosphere was blown off the planet, the oceans boiled away, and all life on the planet died. Nothing was left alive. There was only one question: did any escape? That is the question you were sent across trillions of miles to solve. Larson\'s Folly was the sole planet in the galaxy that held the secret to limitless energy - energy needed to restore the galaxy after a devastating civil war. You must uncover the fate of those who once lived on the planet: did they live to tell the tale or did Larson\'s Folly become their final destination? *

Game Play

This game is great for anyone who likes sci-fi and Myst style games. The planet is deserted and there is a science lab that has all the answers your looking for to save your planet, which needs fuel from Larson?s Folly. The only problem is that there is no one to help you and the computers that are running are flakey at best. There are computer panels that have information about the scientists, machinery. From these, you will find out what was going through minds of these scientists who knew they were doomed. There?s quite a difference between those who knew Christ and the ones that didn?t. Also these panels have vital information on how to unlock doors, rooms and computers, so read them all!

What kinds of puzzles are there?

Because this station has been deserted, the computers need tweaking to get back in working order. Also you will get to shuffle the limited power around to access new areas. You also get to melt down obstacles and blow up the power plant. There are three difficulty levels; the easiest is still pretty challenging. Thankfully there is a walkthrough on the CD if you need it.

Graphics/Interface

The levels are all rendered in 3D and look pretty good. There is not that much detail, but enough to get by and manipulate the objects. It?s pretty neat after you blow up the reactor; many of the surrounding rooms have a red glow to them. There are hot spots for you to mouse over in order to move in a given direction. Sometimes these hot spots are difficult to find. Also, when you look from side to side, sometimes the images don?t mesh together very nicely but this is just nit picking. You won?t need a fancy video card to run this game.

Sound

The sound effects are decent when you manipulate the objects. What impressed me the most was the background music done by http://www.cooper-music.com/. I thought the piano music was very pretty and quite fitting.

Appropriateness

There is no doubt that a Christian game studio developed this game. When reading the computer logs you read about a Christian scientist and the Roman?s road is pretty much there. A person could become a Christian if they follow the example of this character. There is also another character in this game that is not a Christian and his viewpoints on evolution and life after death are stated as well.

Violence Score: 5 out of 10

As you read the logs of what happened on this planet you find that there was a murder that took place. I will not disclose any more information because it would ruin the plot of the game. Needless to say that you do not see anything happen since this planet has been deserted, you are just merely reading about it.

Language: 4/5

I don?t recall any swearing but the non-Christian scientist calls the Christian one some non-flattering words. Basically he was wondering how someone so smart could believe in such ?rubbish?.

This game has a pretty good grasp on the mind set of how people would react knowing that their planet was doomed. The Christians were not as afraid of death as those who were not saved, hence the title Final Destination. I believe it teaches a good moral lesson and will award it with 3 bonus points.

Final Thoughts
