Falos is an Edutainment title that is capable of teaching you one hundred words in one hundred different languages. You’ll be able to learn about various animals, colors, and travel items. To make the learning fun, there are five different game modes and your progress transfers across all of them. You can manually change the level if desired to skip ahead or get a refresher on what you have played before.
Upon launching the game, you’ll be greeted with consent screens and non-personal data collection/privacy statements.

Here’s a breakdown of each game mode:

Gorilla Jumping – In this game mode you’ll have to jump into or collect the falling icons that match the word you’re trying to learn. You have five hearts to continue onward with if you make a mistake.

Bird Level – Pressing the button/key will make your bird fly higher. Your goal is to fly into the emoji matching the desired word. You have five hearts to keep you going if you mess up.

Highlights:

Strong Points: A fun way to learn multiple languages
Weak Points: Some movements were not registered properly
Moral Warnings: Cartoon violence

Dragon Level – This is the classic Snake game where your dragon has to eat the icons matching the word you’re looking for. Each item eaten will cause your dragon to grow. Once an item is eaten, the icons will shuffle around. The dragon’s head can’t touch the wrong emoji, wall, or itself, or the level will end.

Gorilla Levels – Your gorilla can move up and down different layers with various emoji on them. You’ll have to avoid colliding with the wrong emoji’s. Purple warp points will appear to advance to the next level.

Graphically, Falos is colorful, and the levels are charming. The icons are easily distinguishable, but the art style varies among them. Some are more cartoon-like than others.

The sound effects are cartoon-like and pretty simple. I think it is a missed opportunity to not hear how the words sound to learn their pronunciation properly.

Score Breakdown:
Higher is better
(10/10 is perfect)

Game Score - 72%
Gameplay: 15/20
Graphics: 7/10
Sound: 6/10
Stability: 4/5
Controls: 4/5

Morality Score - 96%
Violence: 8/10
Language: 10/10
Sexual Content: 10/10
Occult/Supernatural: 10/10
Cultural/Moral/Ethical: 10/10

Morally, Falos is family-friendly and safe for people of all ages to enjoy. There is mild cartoon violence with collisions and eating icons.

For the most part, the controls work fine. You can fine-tune your reaction times in the menu settings. I had some movements not register in the Dragon Level and that’s a bit frustrating.

I’m a native English speaker and have taken three years of Spanish in high school and college. When I streamed Falos I opted to refresh my Español. Due to a game glitch, I was being taught Esperanto instead! Thankfully, the developers have addressed the issue before the game's launch. If you run into this issue, please report it to the developers. While I certainly hope there are no other issues like this, 100 languages is a whole lot, and mistakes can certainly happen!

Falos can be a wonderful learning tool for anyone curious about learning a new language's vocabulary. While it won't teach you sentences, it can certainly serve as a refresher or a supplemental learning tool for language classes.
