Gaming\'s king of action returns in an all new adventure, this time in New York City. Duke battles his way across towering skyscraper rooftops and through gritty subway stations on the hunt for power-hungry villain, Mech Morphix. Mutants of every kind are thrown at Duke as he chases down Morphix through eight huge environments and avoids the green slime called GLOPP that is causing all the chaos.*

How do I play?

There are eight action packed levels. To complete each level you must find the color key cards to open up new areas. Also there are bomb strapped babes that need you to save them. They are usually very grateful when you do. Why don\'t they wear more clothing?? Nukes are hidden throughout the levels as well. If you collect all ten in each level your maximum ego (health) is raised by two points permanently, plus they allow Duke to hold more ammo. Many of these nukes can be found in secret areas so keep your eyes open! At the end of each level, you will encounter a boss to defeat. Usually there are helpful power ups near by.

What kind of enemies are there?

There are many mutated baddies that you will encounter. Duke usually has a clever retort after killing each type of mutant. There are Pigcops which are dumb but powerful. After destroying one of these he\'ll say something like \'Makin Bacon!\' or \'Pork, the other white meat!\'. You\'ll also come across ratoids, roachoids, and mutant alligators. To add more spice in the game you will encounter femmechs. These are attractive leather clad women robots that will whip you to death.

How do I destroy these mutants?

There are many powerful weapons and items that you can use against your foes. You have your signature weapon, the Gold Eagle Pistol, pipe bombs, shot guns, and assault rifles. The GLOPP Ray will return your enemy to their pre-mutated state. Once they return to their normal form you can squash them with your foot. There\'s a pipe bomb launcher called PRPG (Pneumatic Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher). You can shoot electricity with the pulse cannon. When you are out of ammo you always have your Mighty Boot to fall back on. Rumor has it if you beat each level perfectly, there\'s a super secret, super powerful weapon you get to wield. Find all the nukes to get it!

Appropriate? Hardly!

From a Christian perspective this game has violence. This the only thing you can disable in the game. There is swearing of all sorts. The F word was the only one bleeped out, but trust me, every other one was said! There should have been a filter for this too. Finally and most importantly Duke Nukem games are known for their sexual content. This game is no different. There are many scantily clad women or \'babes\' as they are referred to in this game. There is no respect for women and they are often called other derogatory names. Duke usually has witty comments when saving babes and fighting femmechs. There was also a trailer for the Duke Nukem Forever game coming out. This featured many screen shots from previous Duke Nukems. It even showed one of a woman top less! Parents, please do not let your kids play this!

Overall experienceEase of use

This game is easy to install and play. The graphics are pretty good. It\'s in a third person perspective. Sometimes it zooms in and when it does, the character detail is good. The background music is fitting, it\'s rock style. Fitting for Duke\'s rough character. The voice acting is good. Duke has many witty comments some of my favorites being \'Life is like a box of ammo.\' and \'I like big guns and I cannot lie!\'. The interface is pretty easy to use. It defaults to joystick and had force feedback support. You can customize the controls, they are not WASD by default. When moving Duke along the levels, it\'s very linear, you cannot explore anything outside your set path. The game ran very stable for me, no lock ups and it ran very smoothly. There is no multiplayer and the game play is rather short. To compensate, the price tag is only $25. If you like Duke Nukem games, this one won\'t let you down. As for me though, it\'s heading to the hit list.
