While people are stuck indoors and the Easter season is upon us, while we wait out the quarantine due to the Coronavirus, it couldn't hurt to try an Easter-themed Match-3 game called Bunny Quest.

The story is very simple. You're a bunny trying to ensure a family has a fun Easter. This somehow involves doing a lot of Match-3 puzzles, but at this point, it's not much of a surprise these games don't have a plot, not that they need one because the gameplay is the same as always.

Like all Match-3 games, you match 3 or more items on the game board to remove them from the board until you beat the level. There are some bonus items like bombs that will appear if you clear lots of items to make the job easier. The levels are occasionally padded out with other conditions besides removing certain pieces from the board, such as also excising all empty or locked spaces by achieving the other conditions to solve the level. That's about as deep as this game gets, and that's more than enough since the game has several hours you can waste beating all the levels. There is a brief amount of other puzzles like "fill in the blanks on this still image" and some other minor mini-games, but like the Match-3 segments, none of them will require rocket science to beat or understand.

Graphics are Easter-themed (in the secular sense, no religious imagery is depicted) and they are colorful and cute looking with all sorts of rabbits and bright colored egg artwork. Controls are primarily mouse-driven and work quite well, and the music and sound effects fit the lighthearted theme but are nothing to write home about. Like previous games, sounds and music tend to be a bit limited, and I found it so monotonous I muted the sound and still enjoyed the game.

Stability is again rock-solid like all recent titles by the same developer, and for those using Linux, it works well using Steam's Proton. Game speed seems to have been fixed to be a fine line between fast and slow this time around. Previous games by the same developer either had the game move very fast or very slow animation-wise; this title feels "just right" by contrast.

Morally, there is nothing to complain about. This game is completely inoffensive on every level and is suitable for any age. The overall gameplay is nothing special, but if you are quite addicted to Match-3 games, it's worth picking up when on sale.
