Thank you Prison Games for sending us a review code!
I would not expect a company by the name of Prison Games to be making children’s games. As it turns out, they’re pretty good at it. ABC Follow Me Food Festival is equally charming and educational. This title can be a great learning tool for preschoolers to learn how to write numbers, letters, and words.
ABC Follow Me Food Festival is broken down into several sections including Market, Festival, and Restaurant. Before you dive into those, I highly recommend completing the number and alphabet sections first. The alphabet section focuses on lower case letters, but the themed words will have a mixture of upper and lower case letters.
Each character will show you the number or letter and strokes required to complete it. The strokes are sequential and specific on which way they are drawn. Straight lines must be drawn top down. I like how you can change the color of the pencil. Yellow is the default, but I often changed it to pink or purple to be girly.
Strong Points: Great way to learn how to write letters and numbers
Weak Points: For some reason I didn’t get credit for my alphabet progress
Moral Warnings: You can type naughty words
The custom word option lets you type in a word to practice writing. This is a great way for a child to learn how to write their first, middle, or last name. It can also be an opportunity to type in a naughty word, so be careful if you have pranksters in your family!
During my Twitch stream, I was forced to use the controller to trace the numbers and letters. While usable, the touchscreen is so much easier to use. It’s way more accurate too. After the stream, I never went back to using the controller.
The visuals are very colorful and perfect for the target audience. Each word or letter has the opportunity to earn up to three stars for completing it within the reasonable time limits. You can always retry if needed.

There are sound effects and background music, but they’re not very memorable. The bling noise made when correctly drawing a section of the letter or number may get annoying after a while.
I did run into a glitch that wasn’t game breaking, but it’s still confusing regardless. As sections are completed you’ll see the three stars underneath them illuminate. However, despite completing the alphabet section, none of the stars have changed their color to indicate that progress has been made. Other than that, ABC Follow Me Food Festival ran fine.
The retail price of ABC Follow Me Food Festival is $9.99 and it’s an excellent learning tool for preschoolers to learn how to write numbers, letters, and words. I have seen this game as low as $1.99 during a summer sale. If you don’t mind letting a young child use a device that costs a couple hundred dollars, ABC Follow Me Food Festival can be great learning tool.
