eFootball™ Crosses 1 Billion Downloads Worldwide and Brings a Special In-Game Campaign with Free Legendary Players, Including Ronaldinho Gaucho

Celebrating this milestone, eFootball™ launches a limited-time event “Master League Sprint”

LOS ANGELES – April 9th, 2026 - Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. (KONAMI) announces today eFootball™ has reached 1 billion cumulative downloads worldwide. Celebrating this major milestone, a special in-game campaign launches with daily login bonuses, “Master League Sprint”, a limited-time event inspired by the beloved “Master League” from the Pro Evolution series and a manga serialisation titled “That Time I Got Reincarnated in PES.”

Users logging into the game will receive rewards such as eFootball™ Coins. Furthermore, progressing through the campaign and completing matches rewards users with Chance Deals that allows them to randomly acquire a player from an exclusive list that includes legendary players such as Ronaldinho Gaucho.

"Master League Sprint” begins today until April 16th and invites users to take on the role of a club manager. Users must manage their team through player signings, scheduling training sessions, selecting lineups factoring player conditioning whilst aiming for the top of the league. The initial squad includes familiar players to fans of the original Master League such as Castolo and Minanda. This limited-time event features three key elements:

Synergy:
Users play through “Synergy” matches where the team’s overall “Synergy” is influenced by player’s abilities and condition. Users manage player selection and rotation which plays a decisive role in determining match outcomes.
Episodes:
During matches, various “Episodes” can occur that can influence the conclusion of matches both positively and negatively. Various “Episodes” such as player growth, changes in player condition and injuries bring drama to the season.
Squad Management:
Users can strengthen their squad by using points earned from matches to sign new players. Points can also be obtained by releasing players and reshaping the squad to build their ideal team for league glory.

Additionally, Kodansha’s Manga distribution service “K MANGA” will serialise a manga themed around Master League titled “That Time I Got Reincarnated in PES.” by Kiminori Wakasugi, author of Detroit Metal City.* A fantasy story where the protagonist is reincarnated into the world of Master League, the story follows Castolo, Minanda and others in the life of eFootball™.

*Please note that viewing is limited to countries where K MANGA is available. *If you're in an eligible region, you can also access it through the in-game banner.

Lastly, eFootball™ implements gameplay updates. The addition of the Advanced Feint Command Type and other quality of life improvements enhances the gameplay for users to experience one-on-one play closer to real football. For more details, please watch the information program “eFootball™ CONNECT.”
