Emberville Expands Its Star Power With New AAA Cast Member

Abubakar Salim, the voice of Assassin’s Creed’s Bayek of Siwa, joins the ever-growing cast of Emberville

Cork, Ireland - February, 19th, 2026 — Revealed just shy of a month ago, Emberville quickly caught viewers off guard as Cygnus Cross lifted the curtain on what the team has been quietly developing for the past three years. Today, during the Convergence Showcase livestream, the developer returned with another surprise, announcing the latest addition to Emberville’s growing voice cast, alongside an expanded role for a previously revealed fan-favorite.

Already confirmed as a core cast member, Alex Jordan (The Alters, Cyberpunk 2077, Dragon Age: The Veilguard) has officially stepped into a dual role on Emberville, serving not only as a voice actor but also as the game’s Performance Director. The move further cements what Cygnus Cross has described as an all-star roster of talent, both behind the mic and behind the scenes.

“The thing that really makes any project stand out to me is the developers themselves, the people at the core of it all,” said Jordan. “You can have the best concept in the world, but if the team isn’t utterly devoted and approaching it with a level of detail and nuance, the result will always be mediocre. Cygnus Cross showed me that not only is Emberville an incredibly cool idea, but they also have that detail and nuance in overflowing abundance. Their care and commitment to creating something with legacy and quality for their players is what truly makes me excited about Emberville. Oh, and I lied to Doug about him getting sausages to help get the deal across the line… don’t tell him.”

Previously revealed cast member Doug Cockle (The Witcher, The Alters) echoed that enthusiasm when speaking about joining the project. “The passion, skill, and experience going into the development of this game is phenomenal,” said Cockle. “I’m always attracted to projects where the team has a clear goal in mind, and the drive and knowledge to reach for it, especially when that goal pushes boundaries. That’s exciting to be part of. Plus, they told me there would be small sausages. I like small sausages.”

Also revealed during today’s showcase is the addition of Abubakar Salim, best known as the voice of Bayek of Siwa in Assassin’s Creed: Origins and as Alyn of Hull in House of the Dragon. Salim joins the cast as the latest high-profile addition to Emberville’s lineup.

“I look for projects that take risks, and Emberville is absolutely pushing the envelope,” said Salim. “Seeing how this team is deconstructing the genre is inspiring, and doing it with such intellect and intent is awesome.”

With its cast continuing to grow and development momentum building, Emberville is shaping up to be one of the most personality-driven titles of the year. More details on the game (and its apparently very sausage-motivated ensemble) will be shared in the months ahead.

ABOUT EMBERVILLE

Customization is key in Emberville. From cross-class combat skills to a full creative building area, players are encouraged to play their way. Building on the two-button combat system, Emberville offers a weapon-bound combo system in addition to class-related skills. Unlock new combos for a variety of weapons and chain different types of attacks to unleash devastating strikes on enemies. Learning skills from leveling multiple classes allows the player to tailor the active combat class for a unique playstyle.

The estate gives players a location to place buildings, decorations, farms, crafting equipment, and more, with many items and buildings offering further customization options. To ease inventory management between tasks like farming, fishing, building, and combat, Emberville features a dynamic UI system, which adjusts the HUD seamlessly when approaching areas for each task.

Emberville will offer players an ambitious combination of game systems and mechanics that go far beyond the traditional staples of basic resource gathering and combat that “fight and farm” games are well known for. The leveling system in the game will let players not only swap between different classes, but also allow them to inherit active and passive abilities from that leveled class into a new one, which will allow for flexibility and creativity as each player can find a combination that is unique to their playstyle.

Exclusive Features:

Unique Multi-layered Combat Mechanics: In addition to the traditional two-button combat system, Emberville features a weapon-bound combo system and class-related combat skills.
Dynamic UI: A User Interface mechanic that changes the HUD in accordance with the player’s needs, making it easier to deal with multiple features without preventing the player from making their own decisions or managing their inventory.
Inherited Skills: Combat skills that are inherited from one leveled-up class to another, allowing the player customize the active combat class.

Key Features:

Fast-paced Combat Mechanics: The combat is fast-paced and action-oriented, with a wide variety of weapons, skills, and abilities.
Multifaceted Game Progression: Progression is multifaceted, with players leveling up weapon and armor categories to unlock new classes, leveling up and learning crafting and gathering skills, rescuing NPCs to enhance and rebuild Emberville, and exploring the world to uncover hidden treasures and secrets.
Farming, Gathering, and Crafting: Emberville features farming, gathering, and crafting skills that can be used to grow crops, gather plants, wood, and minerals, and craft items, which can be improved by leveling up, learning skills, blueprints, and recipes.
Estate: A customizable creative player area, with houses, buildings, and objects that can be custom-placed and used to improve skills, craft items, and as a chill spot.
Procedural Generation: The world of Emberville can be explored through a giant procedurally generated world that contains procedurally generated levels with a great variety of events, biomes, enemies, treasures, and so on.

Emberville will be launching into Steam Early Access in Summer 2026.
