Two Faces of Horror: Bonefield and Aris Arcanum Launch During Steam Scream Fest
This year’s Steam Scream Fest welcomes two haunting new entries from publishing platform indie.io, delivering distinctly different nightmares for horror fans. Whether it’s the gritty realism of Bonefield or the cerebral spellcraft of Aris Arcanum, both titles redefine what it means to face fear — through the lens, or through the mind.
Developed by Red Rock Gaming Studios and now available in Early Access, Bonefield plunges players into a twisted investigation deep in rural Montana. Seen entirely through the narrow perspective of a bodycam, the game’s realism blurs the line between perception and paranoia.
Players step into the role of a private investigator, uncovering corporate corruption to find themselves hunted by the horrifying Tormentors. The first chapter features SawHand, a victim of illegal experiments who stalks players across the decaying halls of Gray Manor, visible only under blacklight. With scarce resources, no guaranteed safety, and a suffocating sense of dread, Bonefield channels a new breed of bodycam horror.

From Finnish studio Broken Cane, Aris Arcanum invites players to descend into the crumbling Library of Aris, where magic itself has turned against its masters. Combining deliberate, rhythmic combat with deep roguelite progression, players craft unique spells using Ink, refining elements, and scribing their own creations to confront the complexities of the Archives and the horrors they hold.
