Sydney, Australia - October 27, 2025 | Sydney-based Working as Intended's highly anticipated sandbox, simulation god game Terra Firma 2 launches today on Steam in Early Access, with a brand new launch trailer.
Terra Firma 2 is a powerful simulation of natural forces, giving you the creative freedom to sculpt entire worlds to your liking. Use intuitive tools to alter terrain, adjust rainfall, change temperatures, and tweak tectonic activity.
The launch trailer highlights some additional features that are available now, including the Campaign Mode, which allows players to complete challenges by altering pre-rendered world environments, as well as the ability to export player creations into voxel-based games like Minecraft.
"I'm very excited to share Terra Firma 2 with the world today, 8 years after work began on the first prototype." Shared solo developer Gareth Robinson. "Thanks to everyone who played the free version and the demo for their support and feedback to make this possible.
With Terra Firma 2 launching in Early Access, it allows for the developer to expand on the initial vision whilst continuing to add content and value for the player. Such planned inclusions are:

Life in Terra Firma 2 emerges organically based on the world you create. Plants and animals respond to local conditions such as moisture, temperature, and elevation, resulting in rich ecosystems that feel alive. From boreal forests to mangroves, deserts to alpine tundra, the variety is shaped entirely by your choices.
Alter the Environment with Complete Climate Control
Take command of world’s climate with the ability to modify rainfall and temperature to create seasonal variations. Melt the snowcaps off the tallest mountain and watch the water flow down to raise the water level, or change the rainfall to see different biomes flourish.
Worlds created in Terra Firma 2 are able to be saved, loaded, and exported to other systems, either as heightmaps or via an exporter to your favourite voxel based game.
