Meet IMMORTAL, a Kungfu-Noir Game With a Traumatic Dev Journey

IMMORTAL is visually-stunning tale inspired by a Buddhist myth planned for release in 2027 and culminating from five years of perseverance through litigation, tragedy, and more

TALLINN, ESTONIA - September 8, 2025 - Independent game studio Mishura Games is pleased to present IMMORTAL: And The Death That Follows, a genre-spawning "kungfu-noir" prison drama. As a love letter to gaming itself, players control Fudo through a wild mix of stylish character-action and dating sim where players build their own gang and plan the perfect escape from Buddha's prison. Action flows from Devil May Cry-inspired combos to Hotline Miami “kill or be killed” action to fast-paced intricate platforming as found in Prince of Persia. The world offers a unique Eastern European take on Asian Buddhist myth and anime, drenched in noir undertones.

IMMORTAL is as thoughtful in its design as it has been in its development that has seen the team at Mishura Games overcome significant professional and personal trauma. The aptly-titled IMMORTAL rises from the ashes of past work that was the subject of highly public litigation. The team's perseverance and passion will now escape the prison of the past on September 16, 2025 when their first demo launches alongside a 30-day Kickstarter campaign to see the game through to a 2027. Sign-ups to be notified of the Kickstarter launch is available now along with the new teaser trailer seen above:

"Some things should never happen in the game industry, but they keep happening," notes Mishura Games. "Unfortunately, we know this not only from personal experience, but as a wide-spread plague. From the very beginning, our team has shared details of our story and are ready to share more and go deeper today with the hope that it can prevent someone else’s tragedy, or at least help them work through it. Just remember this: your art is stronger than any circumstances. It is immortal."
