Sharpen Your Blade - Katanaut is Gearing Up For Release!
New Trailer and big news coming up during Future Games Show.
12 AUGUST 2025 – Voidmaw LLC is excited to announce that Katanaut will be participating in the upcoming Future Games Show Live From Gamescom 2025, and will be announcing big news during the 20 August showcase!
Katanaut is an action roguelite, inspired by both metroidvania and 2D action-platformers, where you test your skills as you battle through hordes of enemies and uncover the secrets of what went wrong on the massive space station.
It's coming to Steam soon (better watch Future Games Show!) and will also be releasing on all consoles at a later date (TBD).
Can't wait that long? Grab your blade, your sanity, and frankly as many healing syringes as you can. The demo is playable now, on Steam, ready for you to test your skills and willpower.

About the game
Katanaut is an action roguelite, inspired by both metroidvania and action-platformers. The stage is set on a massive space station that went through a mysterious accident. With the station slowly spiraling out of control, and its once-human inhabitants twisted into terrors, you’re the unlucky one tasked with uncovering what is going on... assuming you’re able to survive the station's violent halls with souls-like combat.
You’ll be armed with unlockable melee weapons, guns, and magic-like abilities while you face an evolving gauntlet of horrors, as the station warps around you. The deeper you descend into the station, the environments become more haunting, and the enemies less human.
Every step forward could be a gamble, where strategy and your quick reflexes end up being your only lifeline. Whether you’re experimenting with wild combos, or perfecting a build that matches your preferred playstyle, every death will offer a new puzzle to solve.
