More Reasons to Hunt Monsters: Over 400 Weapons in Tibia Now Have Their Own Skill Trees
System for veterans and newcomers // New quests and creatures in a world of books // Trailer shows all the new additions of the MMORPG classic
Regensburg/Germany, July 21, 2025 | With this year’s summer update, which can be downloaded from today, one of the world’s first MMORPGs is receiving another major addition: Weapons in Tibia can now be levelled up. In total, the new “Weapon Proficiency System” offers over 400 different skill trees. To level them, players simply have to equip a corresponding weapon and defeat monsters – the stronger the enemies, the more progress is granted. At each of the up to seven levels, one of a maximum of three perks can then be unlocked.

The system has been designed by CipSoft to appeal to experienced and new players alike. Veterans can customise their favourite weapon to their preferred playstyle. Newcomers have another way to make tangible progress in addition to levelling up their character. Once all levels of a weapon have been unlocked, it can even be mastered in a final step. While this doesn’t offer any gameplay advantages, new titles and achievements await.
Of course, the update also offers plenty of new content. The quest “Between the Lines” takes players to a magical medieval area made entirely of books, where many new creatures lurk. Things get darker in “Bloody Tusks”, where unholy forces mix the blood of orcs with vampiric corruption.
A trailer published today on CipSoft’s YouTube channel gives a good two-minute overview of the update and introduces all the other features:
