Ontario, Canada, June 26, 2025 | Sava Beric and Ahamed Inhaam, the duo development team behind Fenyx Digital, are proud to share that their debut game, Lotus: Lost Memories, will be available on Steam on August 1st, with a demo currently available. This side-scrolling, 2D-pixel art visual novel features turn-based combat alongside a deeply moving narrative, inviting players to explore themes of manipulation, memory, and choice.

Meet Atsushi. A Young, Troubled Samurai

Lotus: Lost Memories tells the story of Atsushi, a growing samurai confronting the grief of losing his loved ones in a mythically inspired feudal Japan. The only way to save his ill father is to obtain the Raiketsu herb, a precious plant earned through deadly tournaments hosted by Lord Hisashi, an emperor who crowns the champion among the most skilled samurai from across the nation. Join Atsushi on his journey, starting with an escort mission that uncovers hidden pacts and alliances, revealing powerful truths that will ultimately shape his beliefs forever.

A Visual Novel Told Through Turn-Based Combat

Fans of visual novels and turn-based mechanics will feel right at home with Lotus: Lost Memories, which offers a heartfelt story that can resonate with everyone. The game features a deliberate, slow-paced combat system that reflects the introspective nature typical of visual novels, combined with a unique strategic battle system. This system merges turn-based mechanics with real-time Quick Time Events for actions like blocking, parrying, and throwing kunai to intercept attacks. Players need to perfect their timing and precision with ten distinct turn-based moves, including overhead and underhand swings, piercing jabs, and more, to defeat their opponents. For increased difficulty, Gauntlet Mode presents a timed endurance trial where players compete against matched opponents on a leaderboard. Visit six different Japanese-inspired combat environments, each promising unique enemies of various sizes and difficulties, including stealthy ninjas, cunning bandits, and fellow samurai.

Restore Buried Memories of the Past

Lotus: Lost Memories is structured into three acts, told through a narrative-first campaign. In Act One, players experience the early days of Atsushi's samurai training, with an introduction to the story setting and combat mechanics. As players progress to Act Two, the world expands, allowing them to learn more about Atsushi as he begins to trust others and share his memories. In Act Three, players will apply all the Quick Time Events they have mastered in a series of tournament trials, where long-buried truths are finally revealed. On the battlefield, players will soon discover that they may have more in common with their enemies than they once believed. Both sides of the war are made up of warriors, each with unique histories, motivations, and fates of their own.
