Nova Drift: Major Update Announce + Soundtrack on BioVinyl and CD
Nova Drift, a roguelike space shooter that took 10 years of development and launched version 1.0 in 2024, has a few major events coming up that I'd like to tell you about.
Daily Challenge Update
The first major update to the game since 1.0 launch will add Daily Challenge Mode: a new & unique challenge each day, such as Boss Rush (face every boss in succession), Sepentine Drift (a classic-snake style don't-eat-yourself minigame), 20-Point Draft, Cosmic Egg, Purity, Turbo Endless, Way Of The Sword, and much more.
The update is currently in open testing on the Steam BETA branch, and will officially launch on June 5th, 2025.
Nova Drift is a modern 2D space shooter that melds a classic arcade experience with modern action-RPG elements, emphasizing build-crafting and deep customization. Your ship rapidly evolves as you defeat enemies, allowing you to take a build from inception to execution in a single, captivating game session. The game is developed by Chimeric and published by Pixeljam.

Nova Drift Soundtrack on BioVinyl and CD
Nova Drift has an extensive soundtrack composed by Miles Tilmann (co-founder of Pixeljam) and explores the genres of jungle, drum n' bass, ambient, electro, experimental and beyond. It launched alongside Nova Drift's initial 2019 Early Access release and has grown over time into a massive collection of 41 tracks lasting over 2 hours.
A Kickstarter Campaign for making physical copies of the OST will launch on May 20, 2025. The campaign will raise funds to make both a double vinyl album and CD version of the soundtrack:
BioVinyl will be used for the double album, which is an alternative to traditional vinyl and uses no petroleum/fossil fuels.
The vinyl portion of the album will include one record of tracks picked by Miles Tilmann, and another record of tracks picked by backers.
People are encouraged to sign up on the Kickstarter Preview Page to be notified when the campaign launches.
The campaign will also offer digital-only rewards for those that want to support the project but don't want physical goods.
