LOS ANGELES – Actor Lew Temple, who has been featured in “The Walking Dead,” “Unstoppable,” “The Lone Ranger” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” among many other films and television shows, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for a new faith-based, coming-of-age film, called "Ace in the Hole.”
The film tells the heartwarming story of Cade "Ace" Conlin, a quintessential Texas boy who loves fishing and football. Guided by his father, Raymond "Ramey" Conlin, and Shephard "Shep" Joy, both of whom embody integrity, intelligence, and strong faith in God, Ace navigates the challenges faced by young people in an ever complex world.
"Ace in the Hole" is a Christian faith-based film that showcases the themes of family values, fellowship, and love.
Set against the backdrops of Houston, Dallas, and Corpus Christi, the films narrative promises a heartfelt road trip that emphasizes the importance of life's journey and the essence of being a "Fisher of Men."
The film will be the first film both written and directed by Temple, who has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Annual Gulf Coast Film and Video Festival and has been praised for his compelling performances across film and television.
Temple's Christian faith stems from his personal battle with leukemia at the age of 33, a journey that profoundly shaped his outlook on life and spirituality.
"I am thrilled to bring 'Ace in the Hole' to life,” said Temple. “This film is a testament to the power of faith, family, and the strong community bonds that define our lives. I am devoted to providing a film about Christian family values to an audience that is underserved in today's market, and I believe this film will resonate deeply with audiences of all ages.”
The film is currently being crowdfunded on Indiegogo, and Temple is inviting audiences to become part of the journey. Contributions will help bring this story to life, with various perks available for backers. Some of the perks include:
An all-expense paid fishing adventure with the film’s cast: $15,000
A speaking role in the movie alongside the film’s stars and an IMDB credit: $10,000
An Executive Producer credit (single card billing in the opening credits), along with a day on set and an IMDB credit: $5,000
Naming a character in the film after yourself or a loved one: $1,000
A Co-producer credit (special thanks credit during the end titles of the film) and an IMDB credit: $500
