QuakeCon has always been about great games and great friends, and for the last five years, North America’s biggest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party has also been about great people giving back through charitable organizations hosted on-site by id Software and Bethesda Softworks.
This year’s QuakeCon will continue that legacy, as the American Red Cross, Dallas Pets Alive!, 1UpOnCancer, Anime for Humanity, Stack Up, and Gamers Outreach will have a presence at the show, providing attendees with several opportunities to donate, support, and give to help others.
"Each year, the QuakeCon community comes together in amazing ways, offering their support to a variety of charities, whether that’s giving money, or even, giving their own blood for the good of others,” said Pete Hines, Vice President of Marketing, Bethesda Softworks. “This is one of the best parts of QuakeCon and this year’s event offers even more creative ways to do good, from pet adoption livestreams to Fallout 76 charity fundraisers and much more.”
QuakeCon, North America’s largest BYOC and gaming festival, welcomes more than 10,000 gamers to Dallas, TX annually. This year’s event – dubbed QuakeCon: Year of DOOM – will run from July 25-28 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center and will celebrate 25 years of id Software’s seminal title, DOOM, and the upcoming release of the latest installment of the franchise, DOOM Eternal.
For more details on each organization's presence at QuakeCon: Year of DOOM, check out the listings below.
The American Red Cross “Youngblood” drive will be held July 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Fort Worth Rooms 1 and 2. Help provide blood during the critical summer months by making an appointment online or signing up at the drive. Those who donate will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Wolfenstein: Youngblood-themed PC, sponsored by Corsair. Like Wolfenstein: Youngblood, cooperative play is encouraged – partner with a pal to give blood, and you will BOTH receive two raffle tickets. Buddy up and save a life!
