My Dad

My Dad called me yesterday afternoon to tell me he's been suffering from tachycardia (heart beating too fast) and other symptoms that may indicate a real problem. He's got more tests this week to nail down exactly what's going on.

Prayers = always good.

Sorry for not keeping up on this...

So what happened was that my dad actually had a stroke. He spent a few days in the ICU in a hospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador. I spoke to him on the phone once or twice... but I had to talk to him in Spanish, because he couldn't understand me in English anymore. He wasn't able to move his left arm or left leg.

He's now back at his home, and undergoing physical therapy... but I doubt he will ever come to the U.S. again so I'm in the process of getting a passport to go see him.

Lord, let your Grace and Peace abound within, around and through this family. Let the Joy you offer be profound and complete in their lives.
In Jesus Name,
Amen!

Thanks again, guys.

So as a family on Easter we called my dad. He sounds a LOT better, and could understand our English fine. He sounded jovial and happy, like his old self but his voice didn't sound quite normal yet.

He's talking about coming up next month to the U.S. (!)

We'll see. I doubt that'll happen but I'm encouraged by the fact that he's even thinking about it.

Talked to dad again on Sunday. He's sounding much better though now he's got an inflamed prostate which may require surgery. :-?

They weathered the earthquake okay, but apparently it was pretty scary. Sheesh.
