Is RuneScape Dead?

I have logged months of play time on RuneScape, and I just can't get back into the game. It really is a shame how much it has changed (apparently for the worse). 10 years ago EVERYONE played RuneScape and now nobody does. Who knows, maybe one day I'll get back into it.
Why do you guys think nobody plays anymore?

never played it to begin with so I can't say :\ I don't have much time for MMOs these days

There are usually a few reasons people stop playing MMOs, a few of which could be:
- Rising subscription fees (not sure if this applies here)
- Too much change
- Too little change
- Friends stopped playing
- Got burned out
- Found a better game
I never played RuneScape, but I'd bet that it's the last two.
