I think it would be hard to argue that he was gone "too soon". Is it sad? Absolutely. Talk about a depressing thing to wake up to. But man...he had a life I would pay all of the money to see dramatized/documentarized. A comment on a reddit thread about this summed it up perfectly, in my opinion:
"Absolutely no reason to mourn today. Only celebrate.
This man was the definition of "living life to the fullest.""
One of his early film roles was Frankenstein's Monster. Guess who played Dr. Frankenstein: Peter Cushing, better known amongst this crowd as Grand Moff Tarkin. Cushing and Lee were apparently really good friends, and appeared in over 20 films together.
Actually, I wrote a bit of a eulogy of sorts on Facebook for him, maybe I'll post it when I get home again.
