My results were largely negative. One of the cats stared at it intently for a while, then decided it was too much effort to get up and went back to sleep. The other one that we keep in the house walked past my circle twice and didn't give it a second look.

So I may have to try it with different materials.

I would try this, but we don't have a cat anymore .... :( . when we did have a cat, It did like to hide and look for (safe) spots.

Its so weird how cats do things like that....... like sleeping/sitting in octagons made out of duct tape. :)

There have been articles written on this that claim that cats might feel a sense of security in a circle, hence why the sleep with their tail wrapped around the front of them and their head tucked in.
