Metrics can eat yellow snow.

Metric system is all great and all with it's consistency and ease of conversions, but it's scaled awkwardly for "us" level things..
You have centimeters, which are nice for smaller objects. Millimeters for finer details, like treads on a screw.
But then it just jumps straight up to a meter, which is bigger than a yard.
How do you give your height in metric? Imperially, I'm 6'3. Two nice, understandably sized numbers.
In metric? 1.905 m. Wat. And I'm not even sure if I should include that last digit. It might not be warranted in the conversion.
Wait, let's take a step down. That makes me 190.5 cm. One hundred Ninety Point Five. We just went from a little under 2 into the hundreds.
Sure, you could try making decimeters happen, but they aren't going to happen.
And you know what the darndest thing is?
This is all just a rant because I'm used to imperial. I'm not sure anyone who is used to imperial complains how awkward it is to state their height. And even more so, it was so much easier to convert between metric units than imperial. Even just trying to get the numbers for this rant against metric, I got annoyed at imperial.
Why is everything I love a lie?

Hmmm decimetre = 10 centimetre?
1 meter = 10 decimetres = 100 cenimetres = 1000 millimetres....
So a person who is 175 centimeres tall is just that, 175 centimetres high, or 1,75 metres. problem sovled
btw: no swearing filter warning for the subject of the tread?
It kick you in game for every typing error... but not actual beepwords at the forum?
im just kidding, of course the sweraing filter dont work in the forum ( i hope... imagine being autobanned from the forum too :O That would be a sad day)

There is a filter that will replace curse words with the less objectionable. Not sure what you mean, though. There are no swear words here.

Actually, many people consider "screw" when used in that vernacular to be a swear/inappropriate slang.
I just get tired of arguing over it, so I let it slide. *shrugs*

And I've known people who considered the same for Heck and Darn.
There's just no pleasing some people.

I'm not really sure what that has to do with anything.
Jorg is clearly not one of those people. Nor was his comment anywhere near silly...it's actually pretty valid.

Well, no, the "some people" wasn't referring to jorg.
But "screw" isn't a swear word, and the forums do filter our swear words, both replacing them with the more benign and blanking them out.

According to you.
I would disagree.

Really? It's a euphemism. That form of use exists so you don't have to use an actual swear word.
This is probably best suited for another thread, but how do you feel about darn and heck?
Anyhow, I came here to provide the nail in the coffin of the Metric vs. Imperial debate.

QED.
