Facebook bought Oculus for two billion dollars.

Yep. You read it right.
Facebook spent $2,000,000,000 to purchase Oculus.
Personally, this is a huge turnoff. Anybody considering buying one/already bought one?

Huge downer. I'll probably still follow up with it, but speculating why FB would buy Oculus only makes me worried.

I'm still excited for it, but then I don't have a hate-on for Facebook others do. But that could simply be because of general ignorance about something on my part.
I wish I could find the article, but I read something that made a pretty good argument that Oculus needed to team up with someone with deep pockets to really become a viable product, it's Kickstarter money notwithstanding. Sure you can develop it, but mass production and distribution takes more resources than they had.

I saw an article like that in Popular Mechanics. Is that what you're talking about?
For myself, it's sort of ridiculous the amount of hate the dude took for selling it to Facebook. XD

Wouldn't be surprised if his house was burnt down by angry gamers, then he was taken to the MLG's were he was judged by the book of cheat codes and accordingly thrown in the pit of glicthes...
