I'd always heard that in the Gladiator soundtrack, when Lisa Gerrard is singing at the very end, that it was just her singing random sounds.

Apparently that isn't so, with some people saying she's singing in Hebrew. Here is one translation I found:

Dunno how reliable that is, but it does seem to fit rather well.

I dunno, it sounds more like the idioglossia than anything. She's been known to do this and it's kind of "her thing." I guess she claims it's how she talks to God, maybe in a sort of Speaking in Tongues manner?
It certainly sounds like Hebrew at times, but I don't know about that translation. It's not uncommon for a person to incorporate other languages into their invented speech, and if someone was to invent a language to talk to the judeo-christian god, it's not out of the question to incorporate Hebraic phonyms.
Also, Shalom means peace and not freedom.
And there's some latin "Flavum" down there, with a lot of La La's.

I heard one guy say it was a north African language derived from the moors, which is based on the Spanish heritage of Maximus. But, I don't know about that.

(Now, I must admit, this is all something I just found out after looking up about this)

If you want, I have a friend who has made it her academic career to study ancient Israel, Hebrew, and all that good stuff and I can run it by her.
