Does anyone out there tried the DayZ standalone? I'm looking for people to play with.

Im working up to buy it this week. Getting windows installed since I just have Ubuntu atm, but yea... im certainly gonna be interested in playing. Definitely interested in playing with a cool christian or family focused community... im tired of all the cussing and mumbo shmumbo.. Ill keep you posted...

I am planning on picking it up this Friday and will check back to see if you all want to meet up on a server.

I usually just go on a us central or us east server with the fewest people on. that way i know it'll be day time and not so many people who might try to kill you for your shirt.

I have advice for you man, find a friendly DayZ player somewere in ts3 and join on him. Avoid everything till he gets to you and gives you a gun, a waterbottle, and food. Follow him until you've got some of the best gear. Log off when he does, log on when he does.

Now your geared up so you can do some of your own exploration. But since your standing alone now you need to pull up a map I recommend:

Once you've got that up start traveling from city to city: keep in mind that your more vulnerable now. See now you've got to become scary to other players. So you need to get a car/truck/van. If you can do this just ride the roads and run over all you see. The loot you get with your car will keep you alive until you run out of gas.

When this happens I suggest you go buy any nearby cities and get some gas. Once this is done get back to your vehicle ASAP. If its still there drive around some more. If not well, that's when you get a new one. It helps to park your bear in a nice hiding spot. After you do this drive all the way to a big city (electro) start just pwning noobs. Now you've beaten DayZ congratulations.

Yea, I know, I was just stating, that the game is so crazy when a person is willing to kill another player, simply for their shirt... hahah wow ^-^ Crazies!
