This is depressing.

I've just read the one of the Polytron comment boards. What I saw was appalling. People were pouring out all sorts of hate on Phil over creating FEZ(which, in my opinion, is one of the best puzzle games of this console generation). Sure, he may have his flaws, but he doesn't deserve such terrible treatment. No one does. He may not be perfect, but neither are we. People have no right to pour out hate comments whenever someone does something they don't like. I pray that God gives them the sense to stop hating and gives Phil the strength to forgive them and keep doing what he does best.

I know he made some controversial statements and canceled Fez 2, but like all humanity, he deserves forgiveness

I imagine much of this is how he responds to both criticism and insults. I'm not saying he's right or wrong for it, but it justifies it in these people's minds. It is messed up how entitled gamers can be, sometimes.

Agreed. It's ridiculous the type of complaints people will post on there. One person said he hated FEZ because it didn't have enough blood and gore in it. Seriously!?

This is today's gaming community, guys. Nowadays, gamers are nothing but selfish, one-track minded ingrates who want something but when it's not the "perfect game" they turn into extremely biased idiots who spam a game and its developers based on tiny, insignificant things that don't really matter. This why most video games are overlooked. This is why most corporate reviews totally stink. And this is why Sony fanboys are totally bad-mouthing the Xbox One (though Sony made a stupid decision to make players pay monthly subscription- which is stupid in my opinion; this subtracts from the credibility they currently have, and considering the fact that paying for online is what Xbox is known for, this just proves that Sony fanboys are hating on the Xbox One just because). But then again, game developers need to learn a thing or two. Still, after hearing this I must admit that this is not right.
............This is why I choose to make video games. But I must admit, I wonder what's gonna happen.....
Don't sweat it brother. You made an awesome game. You finished the game. You put your heart and soul into it. You keep living your life. Ignore the smucks.

It reminds me of something I heard recently - "those demanding tolerance of their diversity are the most intolerant of diversity themselves."
I have banged my head against the wall until it is a bloody smear asking my fellow gamers to be mindful of how we look to the rest of the world. I have written columns for years pointing this out. Put it in a book I wrote too. I have written for years about how my opinion of a certain game has no impact on your enjoyment of it. I have written that too often we are talking at one another instead of to one another.
What it shows me is the people who need to hear it, are not listening.
I can completely relate to your sadness and depression over it.
Too bad that mature games do not actually instill any maturity in the player. Hmmm that gives me an idea for a column.

Considering Microsoft has totally failed in almost every aspect when it comes to the Xbox One, I doubt it's because of the gaming community.
Besides, to me $5 a month seems fine when you get full games for free every month.

Not saying the Xbox One doesn't have flaws, but fanboys are fanboys no matter what system is, even if one is better than the other.

If you going back to that again, I've said it a
bunch of times: I am not a fan of
ANYTHING.
Anyway, it's a shame this had to happen.

I don't think the Sonic Team likes Sonic as much as you do.
It's okay to admit you are a fan of something. It's what being a geek is about.
