So SEGA really is making a comeback, huh?

I haven't been looking for any information regarding the SEGA Spectrum and what it's supposed to be for a while....

So I decided to look for something and then I found this. MAKE SURE TO READ SOME OF THE COMMENTS MADE ON THE VIDEO AS SOME OF IT IS ACCURATE INFORMATION. ALSO VISIT THE LINKS IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE VIDEO.

And if you're still saying "But SEGA just made a partnership with Nintendo" this, or "But SEGA is making a third-party game for Wii U"- just look at this, will ya?

The lack of response is likely due to skepticism. After all, there have been rumors of Sega working on a new console for years - maybe even a decade or so. I think most gamers will believe it - myself included - only after a formal statement from Sega is released.

Well, when the PS4 was in development did they just outright announce it or did they work on it in secret first?

That's not really enough to warrant speculation, though. And aside from that, we had a reason to expect a PS4. Like, Sony is in the financial state to do so. And their PS3 did well commercially... or had been released at all in the last 10 years.

Look, the Dreamcast was great. I even saw one cheapish at a used game store th other day. Can't we let it sie with dignity?

The PS4 was leaked. With a trailer. Then something shows up out of nowhere, and now people are blasting people for believing that something may actually be real. I said it before, and I'm saying it for the last time:

If it's not a new console, it's not a new console- and that's fine by me. But we don't even know what it is yet. And you must admit, there must be some reason this showed up out of nowhere. Moreover, if they weren't making a new console they would've denied it a second time. Also, they made the Sega Zone not too long ago.............

whatever that is. :wtc:

Like I said, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Anyways, just in case nobody else saw:

Did we ever have any reason to believe that Sony WOULDN'T produce another console? No, unless you include FFG's article--which I do not. THAT'S what makes this different. Well, that's the main thing anyway :P

Actually, that's a good example of what I was talking about. Rumors, speculation and opinions are just that - rumors, speculations and opinions. If professional media organizations with years of experience can get things wrong, why not anonymous Internet posters? Sega may be working on a new console, but maybe they're not. Even filing patents may not lead to anything (look at the Wii vitality sensor, for example). So Sega may indeed be working on something secretly... but until they announce something, we'll never know for certain.

And that's exactly right. That's why I wish people would stop bugging me about it's not likely or saying I'm a fanboy because I may have actually found something that has some relevance. We don't know what it is yet, so if there is the slightest chance that this SEGA thing is real, then it's worth looking forward to.

Look, I admit that it's speculation right now. I'm saying it's real or it isn't real. But think about it. Everyone is just minding their own business. They're not expecting Sega to do anything. And then all of a sudden this shows up out of nowhere. Now it's true that nothing's happened yet. I agree: this might have been some hoax to troll fans of SEGA or something else that has nothing to do with games.

But one thing is for certain: this happened.

According to translators, the Japanese text translates to "A new world of entertainment". NOW. GAMING has now officially made itself a a part of entertainment. I'm not saying it has to do anything with games. But this is enough to drive a lot of people to speculation.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm not saying I'm right either. All I'm saying is that after what I just heard, it does account for something. Also, if the speculation has gotten out of hand (if that is what you're saying).....then why doesn't SEGA clear it up? Why don't they just come out and say that they are not making a new console (again)? If this Spectrum thing is fake, then they could've said something about it to clear it up. They could've came out and told everybody that the Spectrum thing is not something to care or get excited about.

That's all I'm saying.
