I read the minecraft credits and I was bothered by it and haven't played Minecraft since, maybe. What's your opinion on the credits, maybe?

Oh, you mean the end credits? They didn't bother me at all. Kind of weird, but whatever. They are also entirely avoidable and skippable

That strange poem thing, I have a couple theories of what it could be.
A). Some random stuff to confuse people
B). Someone's screwed up world view, maybe
C). The story of Minecraft
D). You beat the game? Wow, you might want to go outside for a little while.
E). A statement beaten with a jack hammer several thousands times.

Hardly screwed up. Pantheistic and cyclical, sure. Themes of universal truth, rebirth, the duality of the universe.

Screwed up? Certainly not.
It's an interesting existential view on gaming that takes in numerous creation stories, from the bible account to pantheism to big history.

Um... here are some strange quotes from the poem thing.
"They used to hear voices. Before the players could read. Back in the days when those who did not play called the players witches and warlocks. And players dreamed they flew through the air on sticks powered by demons,"
Is this some demonic group of players?
"Hah, the origonel interface. A million years old and it still works."
That might be debatable.
"Does it know we love it? does it know the universe is kind?"
How is the universe doing this? Isn't the universe an it? Is this a strange religion?
"I want to help them speak the word they fear."
Is this trying to get me to say something I don't want too?
"Who are we? Once we were called the spirit of the mountain. Father sun, mother moon. Ancestral spirits, animal spirits. Jinn, ghosts. The green man. Then gods, demons. Angels. Poltergists. Aliens, extraterrestrials. Leptons, quarks. The words change. We do not change."
Is this some REALLY screwed up religion?
"We are the universe."
Ok, is this some all religons are the same crap?
"The seven billion billion billion atoms of the player's body were created, long before this game, in the heart of a star."
Has someone been watching too much of the Sci-Fi channel?
Ok, im done quoting for now maybe. The conclusion seems to be the credits are the universe speaking through Minecraft to a player and that religons all point to the universe, and the universe can think or some crap like that. So the credits are pretty ridiculous to me and I don't want to play Minecraft because of it. And it seems this is a strange world view.

Yes, I know of those. I just went through the credits.
You're honestly looking to much on a surface level. The points aren't literal, they are metaphorical. It's relating concepts of existing and creation from the outside world with the act of gaming. As you get older and you study more literature, understanding on this level will become easier.

That's actually legitimate science. If only the Sci-fi channel had more actual science integrated in speculative fiction, instead of bogus monster movies.

Mine too. That says a lot, because he usually has very awesome things to say
