I don't see the appeal. Maybe it's because I've opted out of 'mouse to look' games in a joystick context because the joystick is rubbish for looking and aiming imo.

So, what color does he choose to display in the video? Why, puke green of course.

I can't imagine a single friend who would want to use it; all of my pals either use a keyboard and mouse or a controller.

Nah, that's the trendier zombie green. The red trackball makes me think of the top of a brain sticking out of half a skull like the typical zombie cliche.
Not that this makes it more visually appealing.

I agree ....even though I wouldn't mind trying it out, just to see if it really made a difference, usually I only like to use controllers for games in the 3rd person (like Racing, Sonic, Batman, etc). For everything else (FPS's, RTS's and Mount&Blade), mouse and keyboard is the way to go, IMO.

Haha, that's a great point. The track ball also looks like a marble he just shoved in there. Its look doesn't really match the rest of it. And I really don't like the "sticks on equal level" trend that Playstation started. A 360 style one might be more to my liking.

I'm not fan of trackballs. I don't understand why people use them, but I hate the thumbsticks even more. In an FPS context, that is. This being said, I'm a PC gamer and generally always choose the PC over the console with only a few exception. Now, I can see myself preferring a trackball for playing fps's on a console. But then, I'd just choose to get the game on a PC instead.

I do hate those thumbsticks.

Yeah, by having decent PC hardware and a wired 360 controller, I haven't had a need to get a 360 or a PS3. Since most of the games I play \ want are on Steam (for way cheaper than in the store).

Yup, the one reason I do see for getting a game for my xbox is for local multiplayer, like LEGO LOTR or Kinect Sports, along with some proprietary titles, I suppose.

Needless to say, I spend very little time on my xbox.

Because that controller was puke green, not zombie green. If you're going to show off your invention choose an appealing color. Please, do it for my eyeballs' sake.
