Game System for Forum Play

I'd like to take my group through a tabletop game through my forum, but having played crunchy games like D&D on forums and seeing what a disaster that is, I'd like something that is lighter and would work better for a forum. I have a dice-roller mod installed.

Good rules-light games for forum play?

I've never played it myself, but the first game that comes to my mind in terms of "light" would be ]Toon: The Cartoon Roleplaying Game. Don't let the colon in the name make you think of White Wolf's World of Darkness series (although that would be pretty funny...), Toon is all about playing characters similar to what you'd find in Looney Tunes or classic Disney shorts. I'm not sure how complicated or simple the rules are, or how well it would be played over a forum, but it's designed more for laughs, rather than the serious, often dark approach other games take, like D&D or the aforementioned World of Darkness series.

You also may want to consider GURPS, or Generic Universal Role Playing System. It's an RPG system designed to use the same basic rules regardless of genre, and I know it has a pretty good Web following. Once you and the players get the basics down, it should be fairly easy to find a campaign - or write one yourself - that everyone can agree to.

Maybe something like Mouseguard.

It's more narrative focused. Challenge failures are just excuses to make the story more interesting. Rules seem pretty light to me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am looking at them. I have several GURPS-based games, but I haven't sat down and read them in full.

I am looking at Risus, too, but I get the impression it's a PvP type of game. I'm not sure they would like that. The rules are really easy, though.
